Humorous Movies

Do you think my English video project is appropriate?

Near the end specially, it's due next week and i tried to make it somewhat humorous. The project was made after we read 'The things they carried" a Vietnam book. "The video does not have to include anything within the book" We have to show -Bravery -Effects of War -Truth Using different movie clips that don't HAVE to be army/Vietnam related, but it would be the most obvious/easiest to use. But I used some other things to show the 3 topics along with army/vietnam clips. -Video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJGoaY7Xvg8 My teacher is very nice and not really serious. This is also a 11th grade English class Also yes were showing the class

  3. You know, it does show bravery.. but I didn't see the effects of war.
  4. Deff not I like it [=
  5. "Ohhh, ohhh, watch me, watch me.... GRRRRRRRRR....... *strange fumes come out of skunks butt*" Yeah, do yourself a favor and don't turn that in.
  6. lol i liked it. it was funny and kind of touching during the 'effects of war' part
  7. I am trying to be as nice as I possibly can....you need to re-do the project! That was awful, especially the ending. You can do better if you put your mind to it. Take care!
  8. wow i just watched that. great video. and i dont see why any1 would think thats not appropriate. u should get an A
  9. Umm i really hope your teacher has a sense of humor and I don;'t get the last comment about Blacks.. I was laughing at the soliders... Good luck.. u should watch We Were Soliders..
  10. well it ws interesting though i almost turned it off in thepart where the old man was talking butthen youu had the music and stuff so yeah it was pretty good , i dont know what your teacher is like but if he has a good sense of humor then you should be good but if hes really serious... screw him im sure the class will love it (if you have to show the class) but if it has everything the project askes for he cant object.
  11. If you have to ask, then you know that the video is either on the edge or over the edge! Don't do it! Your teacher may be nice and not always serious, but he has an obligation to report anything that may be inappropriate. And, if anyone in the class thinks it's offensive, their parents will call the principal, and you'll have to pay the price. Your teacher would lose his job and would never be hired anywhere else, so you know he wouldn't take a chance on approving something that wasn't appropriate. I don't think anything to do with Viet Nam should have a humorous ending. 40,000 of our brave young men died there. Rethink. This is not an age in which people can just joke around. People have been kicked out of school for making jokes that others thought were threats. It's not even what was said -- it's what others' perceptions are. And if someone reports it, you could end up out of high school, with a black mark on your name that no college will accept you. I hate to sound so radical, but things like this have happened. I just don't want you to get a little joke being taken the wrong way.
  12. I think it would be appropriate to use in your English class. You might want to have someone in your class or one of your close friends to view it and see what their opinion is. Good luck.
